About the school/organisation

The Edinburgh Academy is a fully co-educational school. The School consists of a Senior School, Junior School and a Nursery Department. The School is a member of HMC. The Edinburgh Academy moved to full co-education across the whole school in 2008. The Junior and Senior Schools are on separate sites, both of which have spacious grounds and sports facilities including extensive playing fields, an all-weather sports area, and a large Sports Hall and Centre.

Access EA was created by Edinburgh Academy to make our facilities and spaces accessible to everyone. The Edinburgh Academy has been a celebrated seat of learning since it was founded in 1824. The buildings and playing fields that make up our school sites are well-known city landmarks but - importantly - they are also part of the local landscape and the community here.

Playing our part in the community is vitally important so AccessEA is a way of opening and sharing our two unique sites in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town. Our Henderson Row and Arboretum Road sites offer a superb choice of traditional and contemporary venues for events and celebrations of all kinds, and we are proud to offer access to our state-of-the art sporting facilities and exciting learning opportunities with everyone who chooses to use them.
